I have over 10 years sewing experience. I specialize in patchwork, hand embroidery, and making "green" items from recycled materials. I can pretty much pull together a messenger bag in under a half hour without a pattern and with my eyes closed :)

I have recently met quite a few people still interested in learning this fading artform. I know there are lots of students in athens enrolled in Textiles, Merchandising and interiors. Whether you are studying interior design or costume design... It might be a great thing to brush up on your sewing skills or learn from the start.

Perhaps you are an artist from Athens and would like more knowledge about working with fibers or textiles. I have a sewing studio set up in my home and I am offering sewing lessons for a very reasonable hourly rate.

I've never made a movie before, but there's always a first for everything as you know.

Anyway, if you have a porfolio / photos and any sort've resume, the first step is to find who may be interested and go from there.

Open to any woman but at least 18 or above please.

The movie will be a documentary/ humor talking about men, relationships, and
whether there is any hope left for the quality single American woman, in an age of, well, shortage of available mister rights.

The uproarious farce by the author of �Lend Me a Tenor,� that brought Carol Burnett back to Broadway. The perfect escapist evening for anyone who loves theatre. Or hates it. Or just doesn�t get it.

This show runs from October 3 through October 5 & October 9 through October 12, 2008
This is a Mainstage show. All Mainstage shows hold open auditions and are cast entirely by audition. The director has great leeway on how auditions are run, and so they can vary greatly from one show to another. They begin at 7pm each night, and are held at the theater.

The director has this to say about auditions:
Auditions are at 7:00 each evening with call backs, if needed, on Tues at 8:00. No prepared pieces needed, cold readings from the script, come dressed for movement on the stage.

For �Moon Over Buffalo,� we are looking to fill a total of eight major roles, 4 male and 4 female. Characters range in age from their 20s to their 70s.

In addition to these roles, we hope to fill a fistful of small (1-2 lines, with some stage time) roles. These roles are other actors and members of the repertory company in the play.

The play is a classic slam door farce, a very physical comedy with no redeeming feature except to be REALLY funny. No acting experience is necessary, just a desire to play and a willingness to be look ridiculous for the sake of a laugh.

Major roles are:
George Hay: a fading stage actor in his 50s, currently performing with a small repertory company in Buffalo, NY.
Charlotte: George's wife and a fellow actor, in her 50s.
Rosalind: Roz, George & Charlotte's bright daughter, who left the stage to lead a "normal" life, in her late 20s or early 30s.
Howard: a good natured TV weatherman and Rosalind's fianc�, in his late 20s or early 30s.
Paul: likeable stage manager for George's company, and Rosalind's ex-fianc�, in his 30s.
Ethel: Charlotte's crotchety ,nearly-deaf mother, an actress, in her 70s.
Richard: a lovable lawyer (?!) who is courting Charlotte, in his 50s.
Eileen: a young and lovely actress in George's company who was once George's "one-night-stand.�

A quick synopsis, for those who do not know the show:
Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950's. At the moment, they�re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in repretory in Buffalo, New York with 5 actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George�s dalliance with a young ing�nue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, abetted by a visit from their daughter�s clueless fianc� and hilarious uncertainty about which play they�re actually performing, caused by Charlotte�s deaf old stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George�s body.

Hi. My favorite comedy movie is Grandma's Boy. Horrible tastes, you say? Well, that may be so.

The point is, I'm going to be making a short film that has nothing to do with Grandma's Boy. However, the film I'm making would be put in the same genre as Grandma's Boy: nerd/stoner comedy.

I've got the script written and most of my locations chosen. I'm looking for people who agree with me that Grandma's Boy is hilarious, who also would like to make a funny film with some cool folks.
It'll be a fun project. Filming won't take more than a few days. Any help would be awesome.

I'm a minority and artist considering a move to Athens. is this a good idea?What's the town like? Is it very quiet? Busy? Is it art friendly? Can I find a job in town or will I need to commute to atlanta? Where do artists live? I need a cheap place cause I'll be starting over at first on a low income at leats the fist several months. I'm looking for a small house or trailer to rent on its own land in a rural area. How is the cost of living in the area?

We are 6 miles from the UGA...about 12 minute or less to the down town campus.

I always like to support the arts. It is NOT completely free but housing in exchange for house keeping and chores. oh, like dusting, vacuuming and putting dishes in the dishwasher. That kind of thing. We are a family of 3.
