Vintage MIK Hondo Explorer Electric Guitar w/HC - Cherry Red - $299 (Athens GA)

These are interesting in that they are a mash-up of several guitars: They have an Explorer body, with a Bolt-on Stratocaster style lacquered neck/fretboard (Maple neck with Maple fingerboard with dot inlays) Non-tilted headstock, string trees, etc. all combined together with a Telecaster control layout. This guitar has a Hondo eagle beak Color-matched headstock with the silkscreen sunrise logo and a beautiful maple neck, aged to perfection. 21 frets and 25.5" scale.

This guitar is in overall good condition considering its 41 years old, but it does have some player wear & tear such as small dings, dents, missing paint chips and scratches typical of a used vintage guitar. Many can be covered up with matching red nail polish/paint if you want. There is some wear around the body edge with a piece of missing wood on one bottom corner. Some of the silver colored hardware shows light tarnish. Neck is fairly straight. Frets have some wear but still have plenty of playing life. Electronics work great. Original Hard Case is in fair - good condition but does have some issues. Nice lambwool style interior, but the brown tolex has some wear & slight tearing. Handle and one buckle is missing. Has tarnish on front (buckle side) metal hardware, Feet are partially worn down. Due to the cosmetic issues on the guitar and case, the price has been reduced accordingly. See photos. Note: Mostly original including cream "notched" Speed knobs, hardtail string-through bridge, two double cream X-14 humbuckers with cream plates. In order to correct a wiring issue, a completely new wiring harness with new 3 Way Toggle Switch, Volume & Tone (Big 500K ) pots was installed. Set up with a brand new set of strings.
More than just a wall hanger, this quitar can make a nice addition to any guitar collection. Low ball offers will be ignored.
